mwbamwbqBothriechis (mwbgPeters, 1859) è un mwbwgenere di vipere mwcavelenose della mwcqfamiglia mwcgmwcwViperidae. Sono comunemente chiamate mwdavipere delle palme. Queste vipere sono tipiche del mwdqCentro e del mwdgSud America.

Tutti i membri del genere hanno mweaabitudini arboricole e diurne.

Undici mwegspecie sono al momento riconosciute.

Descrizione

In media le specie di questo genere misurano 60–80mwfg cm, ma mwfwmwgaB. aurifer, B. bicolor e mwggB. lateralis possono arrivare a 1 m e oltre.

Il colore di solito è uniforme e consiste in un verde che li aiuta a mimetizzarsi con l'ambiente, che potrebbe comprendere macchie scure.

mwhgB. schlegelii è un'eccezione a questa "regola".

Distribuzione

Le specie di questo genere sono presenti nel mwigMessico meridionale (mwiwOaxaca e mwjaChiapas), per tutto il Centro America e nel Sud America settentrionale (mwjqColombia, mwjgVenezuela occidentale, mwjwEcuador e mwkaPerù settentrionale).
